WORDS OF INSPIRATION AND MOTIVATION

Quotes from Marian Wright Edelman

" It is the responsibility to every adult... to make sure that children hear what we have learned from the lessons of life and to hear over and over that we love them and that they are not alone."

" Understand and be confident that each of us can make a difference by caring and acting in small as well as big ways."

Quotes from President Lyndon B. Johnson

"Education is not a problem. Education is an opportunity."

" There are no problems we cannot solve together, and very few that can solve by ourselves."

Quotes about passion, motivation and wisdom (Professionals from media)
" Passion is like a ripple that is an ongoing process." You bring ideas into action into changing policies, purpose and influence in research.( Leticia Lara LCSW)

" Passion is intrinsic motivation that comes from within. Create opportunities for parents/ children and making interventions to meet children's needs."( Raymond Hernandez)

ADDITIONAL QUOTES THAT I FIND INSPIRING AS I PROCEED THROUGH THIS COURSE

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Nelson Mandela

"The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.”
T.H. White, The Once and Future King

  1. I love the quote, "There are no problems we cannot solve together, and very few that we can solve by ourselves." - Lyndon B. Johnson.

He is trying to tell us that if we work
together for a common goal it will be easier to get it done or make a change. We dont have to tackle all things by ourselves and its ok to ask for help when you need it. It takes teamwork when your dealing with big issues.

  3. Hi Latoya!
I really enjoyed all of your quotations this week. I especially liked the quotes by Marian Wright Edelman. She is simply pointing out that adults should teach and love their children. Show them the way in the world!
The quote about doing small things (and big things) to make a difference is very interesting. At my son's school, they really stress the importance of doing small things that make a big difference in the lives of others. This gets the kids thinking and believing that they can make a positive difference, even by doing small deeds. I love this mentality! Thanks for sharing Latoya! Anne

  4. Latoya, I think all your quotes are great. I love the quote by Mirian Wright Edelman which gives all adults the best recipe to raise children. We all make mistakes but will love them and supoort them always.

  5. Hello Latoya, I really enjoyed all the quotes you have posted, but I have to admit my favorite is " It is the responsibility to every adult... to make sure that children hear what we have learned from the lessons of life and to hear over and over that we love them and that they are not alone."
Would it's in the same realm of Hillary Clinton's "it takes a village. Extremely powerful, so true.
