Blog Assignment
One person that I deem as setting an example of being an effective communicator is that of my former lecturer Dr. Christopher Clarke. He was a patient and respectful individual that addressed the needs of all the people that he interacted with on a daily basis. Dr. Clarke used a lot of gesture that created an atmosphere that built people confidence, self worth and being. This in turns enhanced one's self esteem and self concept. His body languages that were articulated were always positive and welcoming. He gave a lot of eye contact because doing such he strongly believed showed him if he was reaching his audience effectively. I therefore, would want to model some of his communication behaviors. This is simply because I have learnt so much from him and his communicative skills are what lent his way for being such a positive role model.

Latoya,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as though he was an effective communicator and that you were able to learn a lot from him. There is a lot to be said for body language. I have noticed people's body language more and more as well as eye contact. I truly believe that these two characteristics say a lot about a person and their positive effects on people. Thanks for sharing!

Latoya,
ReplyDeleteI think it is great that you had such a wonderful experience with that professor. It sounds to me like he did a great job not only teaching the subject at hand, but also being a positive role model for his students. I like how you mentioned that he built confidence and self-worth in his classroom. Those are very essential in the college environment because that is often when students are making important decisions regarding the outcomes of their lives. Thanks for sharing!
